Young Professionals’ Platform for Agricultural Research for Development
There are already many organizations and institutions addressing agricultural research for development. So why should we need another organization? That might be the question but YPARD is therefore trying to tackle these problems which are related to the sustainable use of natural resources, that is, climate change, poverty alleviation, food safety, health, water scarcity, soil erosion, etc. Agriculture needs younger and more attractive faces. Although we will be more and more dependant on efficient and sustainable agriculture, fewer and fewer people want to deal with it; YPARD is setting up a platform for sustainable development of natural resources. The global trend which we have all seen is that Agriculture no longer attracts young farmers, students or researchers. YPARD might change this notion as our vision is sustainably improved livelihoods, worldwide, through dynamic agricultural research for development (ARD)

Mission: To serve as a global platform through which young professionals can express their ideas and realise their full potential towards a dynamic agricultural research for development. Objectives: - facilitate exchange of information and knowledge among young professionals across disciplines, professions, age and regions - Broaden opportunities for young professionals’ (YP) to contribute to strategic ARD policy debates - To promote agriculture among young people (activities still under discussion)- facilitate access to resources and capacity building opportunities.
