Introduction Community Initiative for Social Empowerment (CISE) is a youth led and serving organization established back in 2012. Strength of Community Initiative for Social Empowerment lies in its fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence and voluntary, which enhance its acceptability even among various groups/organisations with differing opinions. These principles are advantageous to CISE, especially when fostering and forming partnerships in the implementation of evidence based interventions and activities.
CISE, which is governed by the Board of Trustees, was duly registered with the office of the Registrar General, Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA) and NGO Board of Malawi as a legally operating youth Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Malawi. CISE, which is mostly run by young volunteers, is also registered under National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) Act. Structurally, CISE consists of its member organizations that form the General Assembly, a Board of Trustees, and a Secretariat which is headed by the Executive Director.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Trustees through the Chairperson and receives approval for all major decision making.
Currently, the organization is operating from the Old District Assembly’s Building, opposite Mchinji District Labour Office, Mchinji District Malawi.
CISE is also registered and affiliated to a number of key organizations, networks and forums, both at national and international levels, where it has significantly contributed its expertise.
